Solidarity, Unconditionally
Men are more than twice as likely to commit suicide, but are less likely to admit symptoms of depression. Statistics show that men have more shame around seeking support, have more stigmatized thoughts about mental illness, and that this is especially true for young men.
We decided that something needs to be done.
Starting small, the ideology of our Support Group is that young men need a level-headed, sympathetic network of like-minded companions to support them in their self-development. We cover all kinds of topics from improving sleep-patterns, weight loss and diet, to quitting pornography and refraining from deep-rooted habits of violent behavior.
The Support Group is not handled by a licensed therapist, but uses methods of structured planning and self-reflection when facing challenges and setbacks, heavily inspired by the proven paradigms in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Participation is completely free and only requires attendance during meetings. The meeting is always handled by our dedicated administrators, and provides a comfortable integration into our group dynamic without more pressure than you explicitly ask for. No preparation is needed on your part before attending your first meeting.
Currently, the Support Group is provided only in Swedish
